This tutorial walks you through how to use the Open Work Orders filter in the Dispatch module to efficiently manage scheduling for upcoming days or weeks.
Step 1 Open the Dispatch Module
Navigate to the Dispatch module.
On the right side of the screen, you will see a blue vertical bar. This is the entry point to the Open Work Orders panel.
Step 2 Expand the Open Work Orders Panel
Click the blue bar to expand the panel.
Once opened, you will see:
A list of all Open Work Orders
A search bar
An expandable filter section similar to Advanced Filters
This panel is your control center for locating and scheduling work orders.
Step 3 Apply Filters to Narrow Results
Use the search and filter options to refine the list.
For example:
Open the filter section
Select criteria such as L1 Emergencies
Once applied, the panel will display only matching work orders.
Collapse the panel if needed to focus on scheduling.
Step 4 Drag and Drop to Assign Work Orders
From the filtered list, drag a work order and drop it onto a technician’s schedule.
When dropped:
The work order is assigned to the technician
The ETA automatically updates based on the scheduled date
This allows rapid scheduling without opening each work order individually.
Step 5 Move Work Orders Back to Unassigned
If you need to reassign or remove a technician:
Drag the work order back to the Unassigned row.
This will:
Remove the technician assignment
Return the work order to Unassigned status
This gives you full flexibility to adjust schedules in real time.
Step 6 Use for Daily and Weekly Planning
This feature is designed for:
Managing technician schedules
Prioritizing urgent work orders
Planning workload for the day or week
Use filters strategically to surface high-priority work and assign it quickly.
Outcome
You can now:
Filter open work orders dynamically
Quickly locate priority tasks
Assign work via drag and drop
Reassign work without friction
The Open Work Orders filter transforms Dispatch into a faster, more flexible scheduling tool.
