How to Import Data: Step-by-Step Guide

This article will walk you through the steps on how to request a data import in Ecotrak.

Step 1: Access the Official Database Templates Upload Drive

To begin, you will need download the corresponding template. These templates are specifically designed to help you organize your data correctly before submitting it for import.

Step 2: Fill Out the Template

Once you’ve downloaded the template, you will need to enter your data into the corresponding fields.

  • What You Need to Do:

    • Open the downloaded template in Excel or a similar spreadsheet program.

    • Carefully enter your data into the columns as specified. Be sure to match the required data fields (e.g., Asset ID, Location, Maintenance Date) with the corresponding columns in the template.

    • Make sure that your data is clean and formatted correctly. For example:

      • Dates should be in the correct format (e.g., MM/DD/YYYY).

      • Text fields should not have extra spaces or special characters.

      • Ensure that numeric values are entered without any errors.

  • Double-Check Your Data:

    • Review your data for any mistakes or missing information.

    • If any fields are optional or not applicable, leave them blank or mark them as "N/A" (not applicable).

    • After entering your data, save the completed template.

Step 4: Submit the Completed Template to Ecotrak Support

Once your template is ready, it’s time to send it to Ecotrak for import.

  • How to Submit:

    • Open your email and send it to [email protected].

    • Attach the completed template file to the email.

    • In the subject line, write something like: "Data Import Request - [Your Company Name]".

    • In the email body, briefly mention that you’re submitting the data template for import.
